Position Highlights The Benton County Circuit Court in Corvallis, Oregon, is hiring two Court Operations Specialists to join our team in the Judicial Support unit.
In this role, you will provide complex and confidential support to a judge.
You will initiate new cases, maintain a court calendar and the judge's schedule, track assigned cases as they go through the court system, arrange for court interpreters, and prepare the courtroom.
You will also enter and retrieve records, make photocopies, process mail, review documents for accuracy and completeness, prepare and edit legal documents and various correspondence, and conduct legal research for the judge.
Additionally, you will provide customer service, in person and over the phone, by answering questions related to pending cases.
You will frequently interact with judges, management, court staff, attorneys, probation officers, defendants, and court visitors.
You will also notify parties of their scheduled court appearances.
Inside the courtroom, you will swear in witnesses, mark and track exhibits, operate the recording system, maintain written records of court proceedings, prepare judgments, complete orders, and work with jurors, attorneys, witnesses, and litigants.
Part of your time will be spent attending regular staff meetings, processing requests for set asides, sealing records as needed, processing civil commitment filings, and helping maintain desk manuals.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
