2 Full-time Part-time 8 hours ago Full Job Description This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (20 hours per week anticipated, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms, and up to 40 hours per week during term breaks) Field Assistant positions for the College of Forestry at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position will assist with field research and maintenance for a research group in the department of Forest Ecosystems and Society.

Position Duties Work under the supervision of a Research Associate conducting a variety of tasks necessary to the functions of field research, with some occasional greenhouse work required.
Duties vary depending on project needs and may include:
Mowing Weed-whacking Clearing/repairing fences Use of a tractor mower Hauling branches & cutting down trees Planning out and laying irrigation pipe Collecting and entering data (DBH/height, field surveys, stem collections) Watering trees Taking photographs Other duties as needed Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here:

9 credit hours per term International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications Ability to work in inclement weather conditions and ability to lift 50lbs.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications Excellent communications skills, positive attitude, and ability to work under little to no supervision.
Experience with field work and irrigation pumps preferred.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Experience or interest in forest biotechnology and fieldwork.
Anticipated 20 hours per week.
